Refactory Workers
This is the website for John Brant. I've been programming in Smalltalk for over 20 years. I am a co-author of the Smalltalk Refactoring Browser. The Smalltalk Refactoring Browser was the first widely used refactoring tool for any language. Since then, the Refactoring Browser has become the the standard browser for VisualWorks Smalltalk and its refactorings have been integrated into Dolphin Smalltalk. Furthermore, many other development environments for several other languages have added refactoring support.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked on several migration projects. Many of these were converting Visual Smalltalk Enterprises code into VA Smalltalk. However, more recently I've worked on migration projects in other languages. We have an industrial track paper at ICSM 2010 that describes our experiences migrating a 1.5MLOC Delphi program to C# using SmaCC.
